About Total solar eclipse

On 2 August 2027 the Moon will completely cover the Sun along a path crossing southern Spain, North Africa and the Middle East. Elsewhere in Europe, Africa and the Middle East it will be a partial eclipse.

In 2027 it falls on a Monday; we add later years once their dates are published. Also in August 2027: Swiss National Day (1 Aug), Yorkshire(Yorkshire Day) (Yorkshire Ridings Society) (1 Aug) and National White Wine Day (3 Aug). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.

How we work out the date
Eclipse dates and paths are calculated years ahead by astronomers.
Good to know
Never look at the Sun without proper eclipse glasses, except during totality itself.
