About Earth Day

Earth Day is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Thursday; in 2028 it’s on Saturday 22 April, and in 2029 on Sunday 22 April. Also in April 2027: Passover (22 Apr), Lyrid meteor shower (22 Apr) and World Book and Copyright Day (23 Apr). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.

How we work out the date
It’s on 22 April every year, as set by the United Nations.
