About International Day of Education

International Day of Education is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Sunday; in 2028 it’s on Monday 24 January, and in 2029 on Wednesday 24 January. This time it falls at the weekend; some countries move the day off to a weekday when that happens. Also in January 2027: Tu BiShvat (23 Jan), World Day for African and Afrodescendant Culture (24 Jan) and Burns Night (25 Jan).
