About Yom HaAtzmaut
Israel’s Independence Day, marking the declaration of the state in 1948.
In 2027 it falls on a Wednesday; we add later years once their dates are published. Also in May 2027: International Day of Plant Health (12 May), International Nurses Day (12 May) and Buddha’s Birthday (13 May). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.
How we work out the date
It’s set by the Hebrew calendar (5 Iyar), moved a day or two when needed to avoid the Sabbath.
