About International Youth Day

International Youth Day is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Thursday; in 2028 it’s on Saturday 12 August, and in 2029 on Sunday 12 August. Also in August 2027: Perseid meteor shower (12 Aug), World Elephant Day (12 Aug) and World Hirola Day (12 Aug). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.

How we work out the date
It’s on 12 August every year, as set by the United Nations.
