About International Day of Sign Languages

International Day of Sign Languages is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Thursday; in 2028 it’s on Saturday 23 September, and in 2029 on Sunday 23 September. Also in September 2027: Saudi National Day (23 Sep), September equinox (23 Sep) and Teachers’ Day (Brunei) (23 Sep). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.

How we work out the date
