About Day of the Seafarer

Day of the Seafarer is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Friday; in 2028 it’s on Sunday 25 June, and in 2029 on Monday 25 June. Because it’s a Friday this time, wherever it’s a day off it makes a long weekend of at least three days. Also in June 2027: Midsummer (Sweden) (25 Jun), National Catfish Day (25 Jun) and World Decarbonisation Day (25 Jun). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.

How we work out the date
It’s on 25 June every year, as set by the United Nations.
