About World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Sunday; in 2028 it’s on Tuesday 20 June, and in 2029 on Wednesday 20 June. This time it falls at the weekend; some countries move the day off to a weekday when that happens. Also in June 2027: Father’s Day (20 Jun), National Vanilla Milkshake Day (20 Jun) and World Horseshoe Crab Day (20 Jun).
