About World Population Day

World Population Day is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Sunday; in 2028 it’s on Tuesday 11 July, and in 2029 on Wednesday 11 July. This time it falls at the weekend; some countries move the day off to a weekday when that happens. Also in July 2027: World Horse Day (11 Jul), National Blueberry Muffin Day (11 Jul) and Orangemen’s Day (12 Jul).
