World Patient Safety Day is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Friday; in 2028 it’s on Sunday 17 September, and in 2029 on Monday 17 September. Because it’s a Friday this time, wherever it’s a day off it makes a long weekend of at least three days. Also in September 2027: National Apple Dumpling Day (17 Sep), World Manta Day (17 Sep) and Engineers’ Day (Canada) (17 Sep).
