About World Drowning Prevention Day

World Drowning Prevention Day is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2027 it falls on a Sunday; in 2028 it’s on Tuesday 25 July, and in 2029 on Wednesday 25 July. This time it falls at the weekend; some countries move the day off to a weekday when that happens. Also in July 2027: National Tequila Day (24 Jul), Parent's Day (25 Jul) and Navy Day (Ecuador) (25 Jul). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.

How we work out the date
It’s on 25 July every year, as set by the United Nations.
