World Basketball Day is coming up.

About World Basketball Day

World Basketball Day is one of the international days on the United Nations list. The UN uses these days to draw attention to an issue and to what people around the world are doing about it.

In 2026 it falls on a Monday; in 2027 it’s on Tuesday 21 December, and in 2028 on Thursday 21 December. Because it’s a Monday this time, wherever it’s a day off it makes a long weekend of at least three days. Also in December 2026: December solstice (21 Dec), World Meditation Day (21 Dec) and Armed Forces Day (Philippines) (21 Dec). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.
