About Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day marks the end of fighting in the First World War on 11 November 1918. Across the Commonwealth, people wear poppies and keep two minutes’ silence at 11 am.

In 2026 it falls on a Wednesday; in 2027 it’s on Thursday 11 November, and in 2028 on Saturday 11 November. Also in November 2026: Polish Independence Day (11 Nov), Veterans Day (11 Nov) and Singles’ Day (11 Nov).
