About Family Day

Family Day is a public holiday in Botswana and Namibia.

In 2026 it falls on a Saturday; in 2027 it’s on Sunday 26 December, and in 2028 on Tuesday 26 December. This time it falls at the weekend; some countries move the day off to a weekday when that happens. Also in December 2026: Christmas (25 Dec), National Pumpkin Pie Day (25 Dec) and Boxing Day (26 Dec). From this page you can add it to your calendar, get an email before it, share the countdown, or show it full screen.

How we work out the date
