About Ghanaian Independence Day

Ghanaian Independence Day is the national day of Ghana. It marks independence from the United Kingdom in 1957.

In 2027 it falls on a Saturday; in 2028 it’s on Monday 6 March, and in 2029 on Tuesday 6 March. This time it falls at the weekend; some countries move the day off to a weekday when that happens. Also in March 2027: Laylat al-Qadr (6 Mar), Maha Shivaratri (6 Mar) and National Crown Roast of Pork Day (7 Mar).
